Grief
There is not one person in this world that has not experienced some sort of loss in their life. Whether it is a best friend moving away, a divorce, or the death of a loved one. I lost my brother in the Iraq war on December 24th, 2003. It was the most painful, devastating event in my life. In one split second, so many lives were changed including mine. It took many years to come to a point in my life where I could remember the great times. I felt my soul breath. My relationships were stronger, my mind was stronger. There were a lot of factors that went into my healing process. God is the #1 factor, and coming in at a close 2nd was family. God touched my heart to tell me to not look at what killed my brother, but to look at his life as a whole and what he taught me. He was an amazing man and what an insult it would have been if I just focused on his murder. He had so much more to offer. All of our loved ones do! Every single person is in our life to show us something and to teach us something. Whether it be bad or good. Any believer knows that there is only one purpose to life... to serve God and to make our way Home eventually right? Then why don't we use the advice and lessons that people in our life tell us so that we can grow from that. That is my advice for helping to cope with Grief and Loss. But, I do need to point out that there is a lot more to it than that. If anyone would like to visit with me if your going through a hard time, please give me a call or e-mail me, I would love to help you on your journey! Make it a great day!
